Lynn Harrigan is a teacher, poet and writer living in Toronto.

Her most recent projects have involved collaboration with musicians and visual artists which have ranged from haiku/art exhibits to radio art recorded with ambient soundscape artists.

A work of documentary poetry, Moon Sea Crossing traces one woman's journey through mental illness during the mid-19th century.

Lynn Harrigan was Intrigued when upon researching the story of one Ann Hanan, she learned that the County Goal function not only as a prison but also as a house of refuge.

Ann Hanan's story stood out from the others because the cause of her mental illness was not clear. Nor were the reasons for her continued detention. The only "complaint" ever given was by her husband, that being she was "filthy in her habits."

Harrigan has brought Ann Hanan's story to life in a poignant and moving manner.

Lynn Harrigan's Moon Sea Crossing adapted for 2006 Toronto Fringe Festival

An adaptation of Moon Sea Crossing by Lynn Harrigan was performed at the Toronto Fringe Festival in July. "It's really hard to get into the festival and I'm very excited that Moon Sea was a part of it," Harrigan said.
